This was inaugurated by vice adm arun prakash, pvsm, avsm, vrc, vsm on 27th of december in the year 2002. Idsc has a restaurant, sports bar, area for conducting social gatherings, guest rooms and a gym for welfare of officer members. As a recent development, the new sports bar has been inaugurated on 14 apr 23. Further, as a major initiative of undertaken by lt gen ajai singh ___, commander-in-chief of andaman & nicobar command for cross integration of messes and clubs for utilisation of all services by all members seamlessly. Idsc has been made the nodal agency to execute the mammoth project.
The outcome of the initiative has ensured centralised subscription collection from the club members and its distribution to other service clubs located at port blair. Further, enhanced with ‘the purple card’ which is a smart rechargeable top up card. The purple card is the key for members to access all the clubs, sports faclities and movie theatres (including on spot payment by the members for the services availed).
Towards the same, a 24x7 operational dedicated server with fire wall has been set up at idsc admin annexe ensuring data security and anytime online transactions by members, supported with 6400gb / 300 mbps internet connection & 3 kva online ups.
The project ensures a dedicated website and mobile app have been hosted for 24x7 accessibility for club members interested in booking accommodation, reserve tables, booking of party halls for private events, home delivery of foods, notifications on idsc hosted events, e-tickets for events and more importantly all the monthly bills. The app ensures payment of the bills through the app with payment options viz., credit card/ debit card/ internet banking/ upi/ purple card balance sitting at home.
